How Rebekah uses SetHero to streamline call sheets on feature films as a 2nd AD:
What was life like before SetHero, Rebekah?
“I was introduced to SetHero by another 2nd AD using it on one of my first projects and I loved it! I have tried getting used to some other tools at the recommendation of others (Casper, Yamdu, etc), but I have always found them to be clunkier and not nearly as intuitive or productive.”
How does SetHero make your life easier?
“The ability to see who has viewed and confirmed their call times makes it so that I don’t have to contact anyone directly at the end of an already long day of work. I love being able to shift all times by the same amount — saves me so much time! I can have an updated prelim to my 1st AD only minutes after being asked for one, and that makes me feel like a rockstar.”
What do cast and crew think about SetHero?
“Everyone loves receiving text messages with their call times! I have also gotten so many compliments on how aesthetically pleasing it is! All of the information is laid out beautifully and in such a clean, easy-to-read way.”
Q: What's the secret to maintaining a good set / production?
Rebekah Hynes
2nd AD on Feature Films
“A good production really starts with putting in the effort to do pre-production properly.
Time and effort spent in pre-production really pays off once production starts.
During production, I would say you maintain a really good and enjoyable set by having a team of people who each take ownership of their responsibilities and trust others to do theirs. When each person stays in their lane to do their job excellently and then communicates well with the rest of the team, the whole production is like an intricate machine that runs so smoothly!”
